I'm looking for something in a lab or in the environmental field, but at this point, I'm almost willing to wear a paper hat and flip burgers.... almost.

Hmm.. Maybe you should hunt down an aptitude test or a vocational interest invotory. They should help you find a profession that you'll like with those factors. (You can normally take the Kudor test for free.)
My advice would be to look towards dental hygene. It's a new and fastly growing field that invovles a lot of lab work - maybe you can pick up a job in one of the offices there.

Thank Echo, but medical labs are not for me. I'm looking for analytical or research chemistry.... or environmental testing/research/consulting. My degree is in Chemical Engineering, so biology is not my forte.

HUGE PROPS TO CHRIS!! lol ya thats right he helped me get to here since the bookmark i usually use is screwed up!
thats only the least of my problems though.. my car is in the shop AGAIN! 3rd tiem in 2 weeks. wasnt getting any heat to my interior and my engine said it was overheating. so i tok it to the mechanic after my grandpa came and filled up my coolant overflow tank w/ water since it somehow emptied. so got it there and they think its a thermostat problem! JOY! so it is in the shop til 2morrow. got to love my car.

I understand though...job hunting is not a fun thing to do. You basicaly have to sell yourself to someone with the power to say yes or no to your life. I aways dreaded job interviews. I aways walked away telling myself I could have done better...
But you are smart...you will land on your feet.

Oh, well I'd still suggest using an aptitude test or VII. What is your degree, anyways? Masters'?

No, just a Bachelor's Degree... which is my problem. I'm in an area that doesn't have much (if any) industry available for ChemE's. Dallas has lots of engineering firms, but they are the large ones that do mostly consulting and stuff so they are only looking to hire people with A LOT more experience than me. I'm not too worried though. I never wanted to do the typical engineer thing. I'm just tired of getting the "Oh, we're very interested in talking to you!" then no call backs routine. I feel like they are wasting my time and I'm wasting theirs.
And I've taken lots of aptitude tests.... engineering and science is my result everytime.

It'll be a little while before I have to choose a major but everything I want to choose isnt going to make me any money. And job hunting sounds like a hassle too.

There are quite a few environmental labs around Dallas. I'm just not having much luck finding one in my area. Blah! Oh well, I'll find something eventually.

ya it is i had to use the site chris told me yesterday to get on. thank goodness he was on GW the same time i was. anyways this is my last year of high school, actually last semester. i haev like 14 or 15 weeks left of school then im gone. graduate may 22nd. soon as im out of school i start up my new summer job. didnt really have to job hunt for it as its at my old junior high so i just applied there for summer maitnence postition which i got so taht is good. maybe ill have some money to get a new car lol. but college is gonna be a blast. no more 7 hours striaght of sittign in school. now i go to class for around an hour then get to go chilll till my next class. it will be awesome. but after that its welcome to the real world. i still have to decide my minor as i have my major already set up. im majoring in Secondary Education so i can teach 6-12, but i need a minor to teach a specific area. i have always loved history but the social studies departments seem to fill up fast so its either that, math, or science. im good at both science and math but im stil best at history so i got a huge decsion there. i currently have a minor that states history, but that could change. so who knows.... i hope i get my car back today. o and i just got on the site chris gave me for GWG as the other GWG site seems to have gone down again... grrrrrr
